Fall in Colorado!

Ready or not... Fall in Colorado!

If I didn't love snow so much, Fall would be my favorite season by far!  It is so beautiful that I feel bad for people that don't get to experience it in Colorado with the mountains and the aspen trees.

I kept my tradition this year of going up to Cripple Creek to see the leaves change.  It was beautiful and so good to get out of the city for a while.  But... a picture is worth a thousand words...

Zip!

In the effort to continue to do new things, Jake and I went zip lining today in Manitou.  I absolutely love zip lining which shouldn't be a surprise to any of you.  There's nothing more fun than jumping off of things and getting a rush.  Any rush really.

Anyway, I didn't know how good it was going to be but it turned out to be a lot of fun.  We got to do about 5 lines and they were pretty decent.  The first one they showed us was the only one you could kind of fall backwards on.  Of course I wanted to do that and I wanted to go first!  Show up everyone!  And of course I walked down to the edge, turned around, held my arms out and jumped backwards.  Other ones I pushed off, ran off, flipped off... pretty much anything I could do I did.  Flying around on a line upside down over a ravine is my kind of fun.  Oh and I think Jake had fun too which is good.

Broke down and bought pictures of it of course...

Never Forget

It is hard to believe that people who are now teenagers don't know what the world was like before 9/11. I will never forget the deep shock and disbelief of that day when so many innocent lives were lost. I will also never forget the immense pride for what it is to be an American and how our great country joined together as one after that. I wish we could live that patriotism everyday. God bless America and her soldiers. God be with those who were taken from us 13 years ago today and their families who mourn them.

Jeanine!

I got in contact with Jeanine's breeder and got some information about my girl's early life.  She was born in Placerville, CA and apparently had personality from the get-go!  Her momma's name is Mara, and she was born on her mother's 5th birthday, 5/11/14, which happened to be Mother's Day too.  Her breeder thought this was pretty special because this is Mara's last litter.

Jeanine had 8 brother's and sisters, so nine total in her litter.  She was the youngest and the most gregarious.  It being a J litter, her siblings are Jedrek, Joplin II, Jag II, Juana II, Jaylo, Jed V, Jannifer III, and Jevin.  I think that it's pretty cool that all my CCI puppies have had original names.  Many are the second, third and so on.

Here's a picture of the litter!

Happy Birthday Love

Happy birthday to the man I love.  I know you hate being the center of attention but you're quite often the center of mine so I hope that will do!

Vallie

I can't believe it has been so long since I lost my heart dog, Vallie.  Five years is a long time.  So much has changed and time has brought a new normal.  But that doesn't change that I miss her.  She had only just turned 7 when she crossed the rainbow bridge.  Had she not had cancer, she might still be here with me today.  So much could have been different if life wasn't so cruel.

I will miss you forever, heartdog!

One Year Down!

I can't believe it has been a whole year with my love!  Happy One Year Jake!

Before you, I never thought there was anyone out there for me.  I didn't believe in love and I was gearing up to face a lifetime being that independent girl making her way on her own.  I was okay with that.  But now I can't imagine making this journey alone.  You've taught me never to give up on love because it will find you when you're ready.  Thank you for loving me and being the man I love.  You make me laugh, we're stupid together and you make me feel safe.  I couldn't ask for more!

I look forward to years in the future with you more and more everyday!

Oh and I hope we don't kill each other now that I'm living with you!  MUAH!
