Welcome to 2015!

Goodbye 2014 and welcome to 2015!  I can't believe that the year has come and gone already.  It really snuck up on me.  This was the first time in a while that I didn't really do anything for New Years Eve.  Work was terrible that day so I admit I wasn't in the mood to party.  We did end up meeting some friends at Noodles for a low key, off the beaten path dinner.  Then we went to the Broadmoor to walk around and see the Christmas lights, since that is something that I do every year and had yet to see this season.  I have to admit though, as beautiful as they were, I was so cold that we were only there for maybe a half an hour.  Then home we went and, since Jake has made me an old person, we went to bed.  At midnight, we were asleep.  We woke up, gave each other a New Years' kiss and went back to sleep.  That's how you ring in the new year man!

I do have to say, 2014 was such a wonderful year for me.  My relationship with Jake has grown and become something that I never thought to ask for.  I got to meet his family and he met mine.  We moved in together which has been amazing.  I never knew living with someone would be so natural and so wonderful.  I am so excited for 2015 with the love of my life.

I got to scratch some things off of my bucket list, most notably the hot air balloon ride which was amazing.  I've decided that I want to live my life with adventure.  Maybe I can't have grand adventures everyday but I want to do something adventurous every month.  Life shouldn't be a rat race all the time.  We need moments to look forward to.

I quit a job I had grown to hate.  It was souring my dream and I finally got the courage up to quit and get rid of that negativity in my life.  I want to continue that forward into the new year, no more negativity.  Life is too short for me to deal with people or things that make me miserable.  I don't want to be miserable anymore.  Although LD started out as such a positive influence in my life, it certainly flipped near the end there where I hated it.  It is weird to think that things can change so drastically but I think being honest about your happiness and not making excuses is very healthy.

I'm also heading into a new adventure with my own business which is terrifying but exciting at the same time.  I can't wait to do things my way and answer to myself and not have to worry about the crazy negativity of others.  I'm still pretty terrified of it though.

I got a pretty big promotion at WNW.  It isn't a job I want to stay with forever but I take pride in improving my situation.  I think I am outgrowing it rapidly but it is something that I very much enjoy right now.

Jeanine came into our lives.  I secretly hope she stays in our lives...

Going into the new year, I have dedicated the word "health" to the year.  I want to become healthy physically which has been something I need to dedicate more energy to for a long time.  Since I have a cruise hanging over my head in a couple of months I need to get serious about it.  Health also means mental and emotional.  I've been taking that seriously for over a year now and it brought Jake into my life.  There are still things that I need to work on and improve but that's life.  Life is a work in progress where we learn lessons and make changes.

I hope 2015 brings health, positive changes and happiness.  I want so many things but there are two things that I want more than anything.  What do you think that is?

Goodbye 2013...

I can't believe 2013 is almost gone.  My first thought is that it flew by.  It feels like writing 2013 just became habit and now I'm going to have to relearn how to write 2014.  Honestly though, when I really think about it, it has been a long year.  I've done a lot this year...

  • I worked on and moved into my house.
  • I quit a job I hated.
  • I visited Best Friends and learned a lot about myself.
  • Visited Seattle for my brother's graduation and fell in love with it.
  • Made the conscious decision not to move out of Colorado.
  • Got a new job I do like.
  • Survived another fire in Colorado.
  • Lost Gerani-

  • Went to the Ren Fest!
  • Got my concealed carry.
  • Started dating.
  • Got to work with wolves/wolfdogs and bears.
  • Got promoted to baker.
  • Pub crawled it zombie style!
  • Met Jake.
  • Got a tattoo.
  • Survived flooding in Colorado.
  • Lost Jonas, the last of my CCI dogs.
  • Reconnected with old friends, Sarah and Sean.
  • Haunted house!
  • Visited my bro in Seattle and fell in love with it again.
  • Went to the APDT Conference.
  • Had a month of being thankful.
  • Visited family.
  • Had a wonderful Christmas.
I don't know if that seems like a lot or not.  A year is a long time but it is also gone in the blink of an eye.  That is why my resolution for 2014 will be to write a page in a journal every day.  Just a page.  I should be able to handle that.  But by the end of the year, I'll have 365 pages to read and reflect on.

Now 2013 is going going...

When the bell tolls I'll be a party with friends playing board games and hopefully having a wonderful time.  Snuggling with Jake too.

I hope everyone reflects well and has a great night!

Adios 2012

Happy New Year!
Almost...

I don't really understand the whole celebrating a new year quite so much.  I mean, whoever came up with this calender just picked this as the end and tomorrow as the beginning.  Really it's just another day.  I guess people need structure to view the world and their lives.

I'm also not huge into New Years resolutions.  No one keeps them so why bother.  But of course then again it is good to analyze your life and see what you would like to change.  You should be doing that all year around but again, people need a reason to step back and look at themselves.  It's just too hard to be expected to do that every day.  Cynical?  Probably.

Alright alright alright...  I'll stop being cynical for a moment and take some time to reflect on the past year.  Been a strange one.  Lots of changes but mostly exhausting.  Maybe that's causing my cynical attitude.  I left LD.  That was a good change.  I finally held myself responsible for being miserable there and did something to change it.  Although the job I have no is pretty dull and not close to my heart, I am very grateful to have one.  The health insurance has been good too.  I got certified as a trainer.  I feel wonderful about that.  Lots of hard work went into that and I really felt Vallie looking over my shoulder on that one.  Thanks girl!  And I bought a house.  Granted that is as much a nightmare as it is a blessing at this point.  Mostly because I hate remodeling and it's hard for me to see past that.  It was a lot more work than I thought it was going to be.  Of course, when it is finished and I actually get to live there I'll be much more grateful.  Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later.  Yeah I need to devote more time and energy to it.

When looking back on the last year it is hard for me to see past the last couple months.  I have been exhausted and extremely unorganized these past couple of months.  I think it is clouding my outlook on the whole year.  I've had time off that I was supposed to use to get refocused and organized but that didn't happen, of course.  I did a lot of sitting on my ass and sleeping.  Instead of making more rejuvenated it has made me more exhausted.  Not a good thing really.

So I guess if I'm pressed I'll make these "resolutions":
  • Stop being lazy and do what needs to be done.
  • Finish the remodel.
  • Exercise!
We'll see.  I hope 2013 is another year I can look back on and see some things I'm proud of.

Anywho, will be trucking off to a party with some friends tonight.  Game nights are always much appreciated and fun.  Made some snacks and jello shots.  Should be fun.

Goodbye 2012, I knew thee well!
